GRASS & Qgis updated

Another build of GRASS 6.3 CVS. This includes an internal change that will break software that uses the GRASS libraries, like Qgis. So, an updated Qgis 0.8.1 is also available.

I also added Qgis 0.9.0 preview 2. To make the bundling work (for a drag-n-drop install) for Qt and the new Python support, I had to make this one Tiger only.

Framework updates

And, a batch of framework updates:

GDAL 1.4.2-4 — Curl, DAP, GeoTIFF, MySQL support updated. Dropped the internal plugins for base formats, except GRASS which must be a plugin – all formats except GRASS and those available as separate plugin downloads are built into the GDAL framework. This is the normal method of building GDAL anyways. Plugins seemed like a good idea once upon a time, to more easily update individual formats, but I end up rebuilding the whole framework most of the time anyways.

rgdal updated also. And I added a debug build of the GDAL framework binary.

GD 2.0.35-2 — fixed a small Panther compatibility issue.

SQLite 3.4.2-1 — version update. I also added the FTS2 (full text search) extension.

UnixImageIO 1.0.16 — updated TIFF library to recent 3.9.0 beta.

SumomOS updated!

After months of off-n-on work, I finally completed the iTunes app skin for SumomOS. This is for iTunes 7.1, but may work for other 7.x versions. I will be updating my installed iTunes next so I can make sure SumomOS is up-to-date.

There are also other refinements, and the beginnings of an iPhoto 6 skin. iPhoto is an odd beast (more than iTunes was), and I don’t know how far I’ll get on it. iPhoto 7 may turn out to be easier to skin, and if it’s a good improvement funtionally over v6, then I’ll leave the iPhoto 6 skin as it is and focus on v7.

New ECW plugin for GDAL

Finally got the ECW SDK working, for reading at least. The GDAL plugin is now available, as a separate download for licensing reasons. Writing ECW images is not disabled, but it will spit back an error. It can also read AND write JP2 images (as an alternative to the other JP2 drivers in GDAL).

MapServer 5.0 beta 1

MapServer 5.0 beta 1 is now available. Only in the dynamic framework edition for now. This is beta software. It will replace any 4.x installation, and if there are problems, follow the uninstall instructions in the readme and reinstall MapServer 4.
